Journey of Love: Yingming Charity’s Mission in Uganda
✈️ From Changsha to Kampala: A Cross-Continental Journey
On June 2 at noon, Mr. Tang Lin departed from Changsha and arrived in Kampala, Uganda—the “Pearl of Africa”—on June 3 at 3:30 PM local time. He was greeted by Senbo and members of the Hunan Business Chamber in Uganda.
🤝 Building Diplomatic Bridges
Mr. Tang first visited Mr. Fan Xuecheng, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, for an insightful exchange followed by a commemorative photo. He later participated in a meeting hosted by Mr. Wang Jianxun, Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office, to discuss upcoming China-Africa Trade Expo collaborations.
That afternoon, he paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Zhang Lizhong and his wife at the embassy residence, where mutual visions of educational development and cultural exchange were warmly shared.
Lunch was hosted by Ms. Wang Lihong, Council Member of the National Friendship Association and President of Luyangzi Polytechnic College.
On June 4, Mr. Tang visited Uganda’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, who welcomed him warmly and expressed gratitude for the planned charity initiatives in Uganda.
🏚️ Encountering Deep Poverty
On June 6, Mr. Tang visited several low-income households in suburban Kampala. The extreme living conditions and struggles of daily life presented a raw, unfiltered view of poverty that deeply moved the team and reaffirmed the importance of their mission.
🍽️ A Humble Meal, A Powerful Contrast
On June 8, in a village nearly 400 kilometers from Kampala, Mr. Tang had breakfast in a modest eatery. The meal—Katogo (banana stewed with beef), passionfruit juice, and unlimited local coffee—cost less than one US dollar.
📚 A Forgotten School with Unshakable Hope
Following breakfast, Mr. Tang visited a rural school with 870 students and only 13 teachers, most of whom had never seen a Chinese visitor. The school had never received any foreign aid. Classrooms were crumbling, dormitories unlivable, and the canteen barely functional. Yet hope lived in every child’s eyes.
💖 Why It Matters
This journey was more than symbolic — it marked the beginning of a long-term, purpose-driven partnership between Yingming Education Charity and Krashimaya, united by a shared belief: that commerce can uplift, and compassion can lead the way.
Through the Snow Lotus Blooming initiative, 2% of every Krashimaya purchase goes directly toward supporting the education of Tibetan children. Now, we are extending that mission to reach underprivileged students in Uganda as well — children who have never received international aid, yet radiate resilience and hope.
As Mr. Tang reflected:
“In a world that often feels divided, fairness and love are values we must actively pursue.”
Krashimaya’s vision is clear:
A world where cultural treasures are cherished, not forgotten. Where commerce uplifts communities. Where compassion guides creation.
Together, with every handmade product, every child reached, and every school we support, we are building that world — one step at a time.
We are now working to launch a global donation platform, so individuals and businesses can easily support this expanding mission. Every small act of love moves us closer to a world that is more just, more connected, and more compassionate.
