Pomegranate Blossoms Again: The Yingming Scholarship Lights Up Tibetan Dreams

At 4 PM on the 14th, three volunteers—Zuo Xian, Chang Kuan-kuan, and Hu Zhu—departed from Beishan, Changsha County, embarking on a journey that would stretch across over 2,100 kilometers. Braving towering mountain passes, bone-chilling winds, severe altitude sickness, and winding roads, they arrived on the evening of the 16th in the serene yet challenging terrain of Jiangda County, Tibet.

Their mission was clear: deliver love, hope, and scholarship.
This marked the successful launch of the second season of the “Pomegranate Blooms” project, initiated by Yingming Charity. This time, 15 academically outstanding yet economically challenged students received the Yingming Scholarship, along with a full vehicle of heartfelt supplies. These weren’t just material donations—they were gestures of shared humanity, encouragement, and a belief in potential.

At the ceremony, local officials from the Jiangda County Education Bureau spoke passionately about how this project not only supports education but also helps cultivate future leaders. They encouraged students to start small—helping others around them, joining in public welfare activities, and becoming ambassadors of kindness within their schools.

Comrade Peng Jun, the school’s headmaster, extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the three volunteers, highlighting Yingming's consistent commitment to charity over the past 13 years. He emphasized how this act of giving transcends geography and ethnicity, cementing a profound bond between Han and Tibetan people.

“Your visit,” he said, “is a chapter in our shared story of unity, love, and fairness. It tells our students: your dreams matter.”

The ceremony ended with a wave of smiles, tearful thank-yous, and a sense of something much larger than logistics: a legacy of care.

As the volunteers began their return journey almost immediately after the event, we wish them safe travels and carry their courage with us.

Special thanks to Ms. Li Luojia, whose generous donation made this scholarship round possible.
